The GlenDronach 19th Cask Bottling (1992 & 1994) with Amber Aristy

Apr 29, 2022
I'm joined by Amber Aristy, brand ambassador for The GlenDronach, to taste through the 2022 release of The GlenDronach 19th Cask Bottling (Batch 19). Master Blender Rachel Barrie personally selected a total of twelve casks, each bottled from a single Pedro Ximénez or Oloroso sherry puncheon or Butt, distilled between 1990 and 1994. Whether previously housed in sweet and rich Pedro Ximénez or dry and nutty Oloroso, each presents unique characteristics while remaining distinctively of The GlenDronach. The limited-release bottlings arriving to the US include three casks laid down between 1992 and 1994 and bottled from Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. Each of the three Cask Bottling Batch 19 casks have been released to select states across the United States. Depending on the expression, the ABV ranges from 50.8% to 55.4%. Each bottle draws its natural color from the cask in which it rests. 0:00 Introduction 6:02 About The GlenDronach Distillery 9:25 The GlenDronach 1994 Cask 5080 ❖ SRP: $600 ❖ Aged: 27 Years ❖ Cask Type: Oloroso Puncheon ❖ Appearance: Auburn ❖ Nose: The exquisite elegance of orange peel and heather honey, with redcurrant and cocoa dusted truffle. ❖ Palate: Sumptuous chocolate, orange and cranberry ganache with candied walnut and honey. ❖ ABV: 54.3% ❖ Bottles Produced: 667 ❖ States: AZ, CO, DE, DC, IL, FL, MD, MN, MD, NV, SC 19:53 The GlenDronach 1992 Cask 6052 ❖ SRP: $720 ❖ Aged: 28 Years ❖ Cask Type: Pedro Ximénez Puncheon ❖ Appearance: Burnished Copper ❖ Nose: Exquisite plum, strawberry and red grape, with the finest crème anglaise and dark chocolate. ❖ Palate: Elegant and fruity with mandarin, redcurrant and apricot jam, with chocolate orange cream liqueur. ❖ ABV: 50.8% ❖ Bottles Produced: 658 ❖ States: CA, ID, IN, KY, LA, NM, NC, ND, NE, MT, OH, OK, OR, TX, UT, WA, WY 35:17 The GlenDronach 1992 Cask 217 ❖ SRP: $820 ❖ Aged: 29 Years ❖ Cask Type: Oloroso Sherry Butt ❖ Appearance: Mahogany ❖ Nose: The luxurious aroma of leather and raisin pudding, enriched with apricot, mixed peel and sultana raisins. ❖ Palate: Treacle, dark muscovado sugar and dried fruit cake, with cherry, nutmeg and raisin. ❖ ABV: 55.4% ❖ Bottles Produced: 383 ❖ States: GA, MA, NY, NJ 41:36 Final Thoughts and Comparison New episodes of the Bourbon Bytes Podcast every Friday: https://bourbonbytes.podbean.com/ Watch us play Dungeons and Drams every Tuesday: https://www.youtube.com/DungeonsandDrams Follow and Subscribe on Twitch for Gaming Streams: https://www.twitch.tv/bourbonbytes Support the Channel on Patreon for Exclusive Hangouts and Early Video Access: http://www.Patreon.com/BourbonBytes Join the Whiskey & Gaming Lounge Discord Server: http://BourbonBytes.com #WhiskeyTube #Scotch
