Best Whiskeys of the Year: My Top 10 List for 2025

I'm counting down the year's best Bourbon and American Whiskeys of 2025! After tasting dozens of bottles across podcast episodes, live streams, and reviews throughout the year, I finally narrowed it down to the 10 whiskeys that stood out the most. This list isn’t about hype alone. It’s about flavor, balance, value, uniqueness, and how memorable each pour was in the context of the year. You’ll find a mix of bourbons, American single malts, limited releases, and a few surprises that genuinely impressed me. Some bottles were expected contenders, others completely caught me off guard, but every whiskey on this list earned its spot. Whether you agree with my rankings or not, I’d love to hear what your favorite whiskey of the year was and which bottle you think deserved a spot in the top 10. Cheers, and here’s to another great year of whiskey 🥃 0:00 Introduction 1:20 #10 - Frank August Small Batch Bourbon - https://youtu.be/WI2r1fCpd9s?si=GHwdXH3O_KcsBZBW 2:37 #9 - Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bourbon - https://youtu.be/fQ-BwEKfo3c?si=0jWP0G8qgCjTyqM7 8:04 #8 - Maker's Mark Los Angeles Dodgers Champion Selection Bourbon - https://youtu.be/E24HrgslecI?si=bBwXA69ydgt6EL8U 10:32 #7 - TINCUP 10 Year Old Bourbon - https://www.youtube.com/live/E-wW4D2E5xo?si=5cSj-Vr7bTfowQr5 13:28 #6 - Kentucky Senator Release 6 (John Edwards) - https://www.youtube.com/live/pBoxT2Mce5U?si=84Jp2OXeVtajZBKs 16:13 #5 - Copperworks Distillery Kilt Lifter American Single Malt Whiskey - https://youtu.be/y5qgeWiAp3Q?si=Wi09UuV9xFJYA7CN 18:06 #4 - Bomberger's Declaration Bourbon (2025 Release) - https://youtu.be/zPyBmgcWzas?si=xCYxWoK4ToDi92Bh 22:11 #3 - Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series 13 - https://www.youtube.com/live/xUUICEx-ZI4?si=XTQaet6a4XQZwe2P 25:23 #2 - E.H.
